Poway officially became a city in 1980 and is north of San Diego and south of Escondido. The city covers about 39 square miles. Poway feels like a small town with its tightknit community, despite being only a half-hour from downtown San Diego and minutes from major San Diego freeways. Despite it’s rich agricultural history, it’s now primarily a residential community and known for the Poway Unified School District. Temperatures average a high of 73 degrees and low of 52 degrees.
